Islington Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Social Worker to join the Adults Safeguarding Team. This role involves leading safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, working with vulnerable adults at risk of abuse or neglect. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, decision-making, and multi-agency working skills in a fast-paced statutory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014 and local safeguarding procedures.
Undertake risk assessments and work in partnership with service users, carers, and other professionals to develop protection plans.
Apply a strengths-based and person-centred approach to safeguarding, promoting the wellbeing and rights of adults at risk.
Contribute to strategy discussions, best interest decisions, and Mental Capacity Act assessments where appropriate.
