Community Equipment Service Therapist – Part Time
Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Community Equipment Service Therapist for a part-time locum opportunity with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Working within West Midlands Social Services, you will support the Community Equipment Service by reviewing clinical information and providing professional oversight to equipment requests.
This role is suitable for a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with strong clinical judgement and an understanding of equipment provision. You will work closely with prescribers to ensure equipment requests are appropriately reviewed and support the preparation of equipment for delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review clinical information submitted in support of equipment requests.
- Provide clinical oversight and scrutiny of equipment requests from prescribers.
- Use professional clinical judgement to support appropriate equipment provision.
- Prepare equipment for delivery in accordance with service requirements.
- Work collaboratively with prescribers and relevant colleagues within the Community Equipment Service.
- Ensure appropriate clinical information is considered when supporting equipment provision.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records relating to equipment requests and provision.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with the ability to review clinical information and apply sound professional judgement to equipment requests. You will be organised, detail-focused, and confident working collaboratively with prescribers.
Previous experience working with equipment would be desirable, although the role is also suited to a Therapist with strong transferable clinical skills and an interest in community equipment provision.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Current professional registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to review and interpret clinical information.
- Ability to provide clinical oversight and professional scrutiny of equipment requests.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Desirable: Previous experience working with equipment or equipment provision.
