Reablement Assistant (Locum – 2 Roles)

Rate: £19.44 per hour (umbrella, negotiable)
Contract: Locum, Ongoing
Working Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 16:00)
About the Role
Liverpool City Council is recruiting two Reablement Assistants to support adults to improve and maintain their independence within the community. This is a rewarding, person-centred role working as part of an integrated health and social care team.
Please note: Applicants must hold an up-to-date face-to-face Moving & Handling certificate and must not require sponsorship.
Main Responsibilities
- Meet the physical, social and emotional needs of service users in line with agreed care plans.
- Promote independence and enhance daily living and life skills.
- Assist service users with tasks outlined in their support plans.
- Support individuals to improve and maintain daily living skills, using appropriate equipment where required.
- Liaise and work alongside other professionals to minimise risk and enable individuals to remain in their own homes.
- Work in partnership as part of an integrated team of allied health and social care professionals.
- Support service users in implementing person-centred support plans and participate in assessments and reviews.
- Promote dignity, empowerment and respect for cultural, spiritual and religious needs.
- Maintain accurate records and report any significant changes in service users’ circumstances to the Line Manager.
- Attend supervision sessions as required.
- Support and participate with service users in social, recreational and wellbeing activities.
- Remain flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the service.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with City Council policies, including equality and anti-discriminatory practice.
Skills & Experience Required
- Up-to-date face-to-face Moving & Handling training (certificate required).
- Experience working with adults in a health or social care setting.
- Experience promoting independence and delivering person-centred support.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
