Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity within South West Wales NHS. Based at Withybush General Hospital, part of Hywel Dda University Health Board, this role offers the opportunity to work within a specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) service, providing assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload including soft tissue injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, fracture management, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and sports injuries. This is an excellent opportunity for a physiotherapist with strong MSK experience looking to work within a supportive NHS environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
• Manage patients presenting with soft tissue injuries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
• Provide rehabilitation following fractures, orthopaedic surgery, and other surgical interventions.
• Deliver advice, education, and self-management strategies to support long-term recovery and wellbeing.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.
• Promote patient-centred care and evidence-based practice throughout all aspects of the role.

About You

You will be an experienced Physiotherapist with a strong background in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. You will be confident managing a diverse caseload independently and delivering effective assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for a wide range of MSK presentations.

You will possess excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient management skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Previous experience working within an MSK Physiotherapy service.
• Experience managing soft tissue injuries, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and sports injuries.
• Experience in post-fracture and post-operative rehabilitation.
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working abilities.
• Commitment to evidence-based and patient-centred practice.

Contract & Salary

• Role: MSK Physiotherapist – Band 6

• Contract Length: 3 months initially
• Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30
