Paediatric Physiotherapist – Band 6 (Part Time)
Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist for a locum role within Surrey NHS. This position is based within the Children’s Physiotherapy Service, working across school and community settings to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for children and young people with a wide range of conditions.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality physiotherapy interventions to children with musculoskeletal, neurological, developmental, and complex needs, working closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and management for children and young people referred to the Children’s Physiotherapy Service.
- Manage a caseload of children with musculoskeletal, neurological, developmental delay, and complex needs.
- Deliver therapy interventions within school, clinic, and community settings.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Develop person-centred treatment plans and monitor progress against agreed goals.
- Provide specialist advice, education, and support to parents, carers, and education staff.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Children’s Physiotherapy Service.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
- Work autonomously and take responsibility for clinical decision-making and treatment planning.
About You
You will be an experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist with a strong background in
children’s physiotherapy services. You will have experience assessing and treating children
with a range of physical, neurological, and developmental conditions and be confident working independently in community settings.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, schools, and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver outstanding patient-centred care.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Significant paediatric physiotherapy experience.
- Experience managing children with musculoskeletal, neurological, developmental, and complex needs.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a specialist caseload.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.
- Experience working within school and community settings desirable.

- Role: Paediatric Physiotherapist – Band 6

- Contract Length: 1 month initially, with potential extension
- Working Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days per week)
- Working Pattern: Term time only
