Job Overview

 

An experienced Outpatient MSK Physiotherapist (Band 6) is required to join a supportive and well-established outpatient service. The service receives consultant referrals primarily from Trauma & Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Pain services, with the highest volume from T&O.

 

Clinical Responsibilities

 

  •  
    • Assess and treat a wide range of outpatient MSK conditions.
       

    • Manage post-fracture and post-operative patients including ACL reconstruction, joint arthroplasty, foot and ankle surgery and upper limb surgery.
       

    • Deliver both acute phase management and longer-term rehabilitation in the outpatient setting.
       

    • Apply sound clinical reasoning to select and deliver appropriate assessment and treatment techniques.
       

    • Manage a large and varied caseload autonomously.
       

    • Depending on experience, provide MSK treatment to staff members.

     

    Professional Support

     

    •  
      • Weekly supervision with a Band 7 Physiotherapist.
         

      • Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary outpatient team.
         

      • Strong emphasis on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

       

      Skills & Experience Required

       

      •  
        • Proven Band 6 Outpatient MSK Physiotherapy experience.
           

        • Experience managing consultant referrals from Trauma & Orthopaedics.
           

        • Strong understanding of professional and legal responsibilities within MSK outpatient practice.
           

        • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload effectively.
           

        • Excellent communication skills with patients, relatives, colleagues and external contacts.
           

        • Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences and beliefs.

          • Tuesday: 08:00 – 18:00
             

          • Wednesday: 08:00 – 18:00
             

          • Thursday: 08:00 – 17:30
             

          • Friday: Off
