Physiotherapist – Band 6/7 (Locum)

Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Band 6/7 Physiotherapist to join the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at Aintree Hospital, within the Merseyside NHS. This locum role is based within the acute inpatient therapy team, providing physiotherapy input for patients on Ward 7 (Medicine). You will carry out timely assessments, support parallel discharge planning, and deliver individualised rehabilitation interventions to optimise patient recovery and flow through the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete timely physiotherapy assessments for patients on Ward 7 to determine clinical needs and discharge readiness.
   

• Develop, deliver, and monitor person-centred exercise and rehabilitation plans.
   

• Provide physiotherapeutic interventions to support improved mobility, function, and safe discharge.
   

• Work closely with hospital teams, community services, and multidisciplinary colleagues to coordinate seamless care.
   

• Support efficient patient flow through proactive intervention and parallel discharge planning.
   

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC standards.

About You

You are an adaptable and skilled Physiotherapist with experience in acute inpatient settings, ideally within medical wards. You bring strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. Your commitment to delivering safe, person-centred care will contribute to timely discharge and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Degree in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration.
   

• Experience working in acute hospital settings, preferably within medicine.
   

• Strong assessment, intervention, and discharge planning skills.
   

• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community interfaces.
   

• Excellent communication, documentation, and organisational skills.
