Physiotherapist (Locum)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join Walsall Council – Blakenall Village within the West Midlands Social Services area. This locum role involves working across all pathways of Intermediate Care, including reablement, rapid response, and rehabilitation beds. You will provide timely physiotherapy interventions to support recovery, promote independence, and prevent hospital admissions, working as part of a strong multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver physiotherapy assessments and interventions across reablement, rapid response, and bed-based rehabilitation pathways.
   

• Support clients to maximise independence and function within community and residential settings.
   

• Work proactively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative decision-making and effective care planning.
   

• Develop and implement personalised treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based practice.
   

• Monitor progress and adapt interventions in response to changing clinical needs.
   

• Provide clear documentation, maintaining accurate and professional clinical records.
   

• Contribute to safe and timely hospital discharge planning and admission avoidance when required.

• Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
   

• Community experience is essential.
   

• Experience working in rehabilitation or intermediate care settings is highly desirable.
   

• Post-graduate clinical experience required due to caseload complexity.
   

• Ability to work effectively within an MDT environment.
   

• Strong assessment, planning, and communication skills.
   

• Car driver with access to a vehicle.
