Physiotherapist – Band 7 (Pelvic Health, Bedfordshire NHS – Luton & Bedford)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Physiotherapist (Band 7) specialising in Pelvic Health to join the Bedfordshire NHS therapy team, working across Luton and Bedford. This locum role offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver advanced physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex pelvic floor and women’s health conditions within a supportive NHS environment.
As a senior clinician, you will take responsibility for providing specialist assessment and treatment, supporting service development, and mentoring junior physiotherapists to promote high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide specialist assessment and management for patients presenting with pelvic health conditions, including continence, pelvic pain, prolapse, and postnatal rehabilitation needs.
- Deliver individual and group-based interventions using evidence-based physiotherapy approaches to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
- Work collaboratively with gynaecologists, urologists, midwives, and other health professionals to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
- Contribute to the development of pelvic health services across Luton and Bedford, supporting innovation and best practice.
- Provide education and advice to patients, carers, and staff on pelvic health, continence, and self-management strategies.
- Support and mentor junior staff and students, offering clinical supervision and guidance to ensure consistent service quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with HCPC and CSP professional standards.
- Participate in clinical audits and service improvement projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.

You are an empathetic and confident Physiotherapist with specialist expertise in pelvic health and a passion for supporting patients to achieve improved wellbeing and quality of life. You demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. You are comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary NHS teams.
Requirements

- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration.
- Substantial post-qualification experience, including specialist pelvic health physiotherapy practice.
- Experience working within NHS outpatient or women’s health services is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of pelvic floor rehabilitation, continence management, and postnatal recovery.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to service improvement, patient education, and professional development.
