MSK Physiotherapist – Band 6 (Part Time)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist to join Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust, based at St Mark’s Hospital, Maidenhead within the Berkshire NHS. This part-time locum role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality musculoskeletal physiotherapy to a varied caseload within a supportive outpatient environment.
You’ll play an integral role in assessing, treating, and rehabilitating patients with musculoskeletal conditions, helping them regain mobility, function, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct comprehensive MSK physiotherapy assessments for patients with acute, chronic, and post-surgical conditions.
– Develop and deliver tailored treatment and rehabilitation plans based on evidence-based practice.
– Manage an independent caseload while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS and HCPC standards.
– Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
– Provide advice, education, and ongoing support to patients to encourage self-management and recovery.
– Contribute to audits, clinical governance, and service development initiatives.
– Support continuous improvement of the MSK service through professional input and reflective practice.
About You
You’ll be a confident and proactive Physiotherapist with strong experience in musculoskeletal practice. With at least three years’ experience in MSK physiotherapy, you’ll have the clinical knowledge and hands-on expertise to manage a diverse range of conditions effectively.
You’ll demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong clinical reasoning, and a patient-centred approach to care. Previous NHS experience and knowledge of Rio systems would be advantageous.
Requirements
– Degree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
– Current HCPC registration
– Minimum of three years’ experience as an MSK Physiotherapist (essential)
– NHS experience (desirable)
– Knowledge of Rio electronic records system (desirable)
– Excellent manual therapy and rehabilitation skills
– Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
– Ability to manage time and workload effectively
