Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a dedicated Children with Disabilities Team. This role is ideal for a passionate social worker committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with disabilities while supporting families through person-centred practice.
You will manage a varied caseload, working collaboratively with children, young people, families and partner agencies to assess needs, develop effective care plans and deliver high-quality social work interventions that promote positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people within the Children with Disabilities Team.
- Undertake assessments, care planning, service delivery and reviews in line with statutory responsibilities.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people to encourage meaningful engagement and positive social and emotional development.
- Act as the allocated key worker, providing a consistent point of contact for children, young people and their families.
- Work closely with parents, carers and wider family networks to promote positive change and improve outcomes.
- Develop strong partnerships with education, health and other multi-agency professionals to ensure coordinated support.
- Prepare high-quality reports, maintain accurate case records and ensure all documentation is completed within required timescales.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children remains at the centre of all practice.
About You
You will be a motivated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker with experience of supporting children, young people and families. You will have excellent assessment, communication and partnership-working skills, with the ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining high professional standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children and families, ideally within a Children with Disabilities Team.
- Excellent assessment, report writing and case management skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child-centred practice.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Contract & Salary
Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team
Job Type: Locum
Working Pattern: Hybrid – Office attendance required 3 days per week.
Pay Rate: £19.01–£20.00 per hour.
