Job Title:  Inpatient Specialist Respiratory Lead – Band 8a
Area:  South London NHS 
Salary: £negotiable

Job details:  Locum required to start asap for 6 months. JD available on request:
To provide professional clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality and effective
patient care across adult and paediatric respiratory therapy services.

  • The post holder is an Autonomous practitioner who will manage, a caseload of In-Patients medical

problems including, with routine and complex needs using evidence based/client centred principles. To
assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

  • To support the Operations Manager and OCL in the strategic developments within the respiratory

therapy service.

  • To act as ambassador for therapy services within the Trust
  • To demonstrate through personal behaviours the core values of the Trust.
  • Keep up to date with new developments, undertaking audit to evaluate practice and liaising with

multidisciplinary colleagues

  • To undertake a therapy clinical specialty team leader role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and

evaluating the therapy service provided on a day-to-day basis within inpatient services.

  • To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of

physiotherapy staff delivering respiratory physiotherapy care including appraisal, supported by the
Operations Manager and OCL.

  • To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Physiotherapy Service.
  • To regularly supervise Physiotherapy students on practice placements.
  • To manage and actively participate in the weekend and emergency on call service.

 Working hours:  Full time.
