Barking and Dagenham Council is seeking a compassionate and motivated Unqualified Personal Advisor to support young people leaving care as they transition into adulthood. This is a vital role in our Leaving Care Service, where you will help care leavers build independence, access services, and achieve their personal goals. Experience working with vulnerable young people is essential, even if you are not a qualified social worker.
Key Responsibilities:
Support care leavers aged 16+ with pathway planning, housing, education, training, employment, and life skills development.
Build trusting, professional relationships with young people, offering guidance and emotional support as they transition to independence.
Work in partnership with social workers and other professionals to deliver holistic, person-centred support.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, ensuring young people’s voices are heard and plans reflect their aspirations.
