Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children assessments.

Develop, implement, and review child-centred care plans that promote safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

Work in close partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to deliver coordinated and outcome-focused support.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and represent the local authority in court proceedings, child protection conferences, and statutory reviews.

Maintain regular visits and oversight of children in care to monitor placement quality and ensure their voice is central to all planning.

Keep accurate, timely, and reflective case records in line with Bristol City Council’s practice expectations and statutory requirements.
