Job Overview
We are recruiting a skilled **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Cheshire East Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred support to adults, promoting independence, safeguarding wellbeing, and ensuring statutory duties are met.
You will manage a varied caseload of adults with complex needs, carrying out assessments, developing care plans, and working closely with partner agencies to deliver safe and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
– Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, risks, and support options. – Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans. – Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management. – Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions. – Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court when required. – Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary sector, and community partners to deliver integrated care. – Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential recording of casework in line with professional standards. – Contribute to team learning, reflective practice, and service development initiatives.
About You
You are an experienced social worker who is passionate about supporting adults to live with dignity, independence, and choice. You have the resilience to manage complex cases, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with professionals, families, and carers.
Requirements
– Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**. – Post-qualification experience in **Adults’ Services**, including safeguarding and complex casework. – Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation. – Excellent assessment, report writing, and communication skills. – Ability to balance caseloads, prioritise work, and maintain a person-centred approach under pressure.
