Occupational Therapist – Reablement
Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Bexley Council within the South East London Social Services team. This locum role is based in the Reablement Service and focuses on empowering adults to regain independence and confidence in daily living activities through short-term, goal-oriented support.
Working within a multidisciplinary framework, you’ll provide professional occupational therapy input to individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health needs—helping them achieve greater independence and reduce reliance on long-term care.
Key Responsibilities
– Deliver comprehensive, strength-based assessments of adults in their own homes to identify functional abilities and reablement goals.
– Develop, implement, and review reablement programmes to maximise independence in daily living activities.
– Provide tailored interventions including equipment provision, skills training, and environmental adaptations.
– Collaborate with care agency staff, physiotherapists, social workers, and reablement assistants to ensure coordinated support.
– Promote wellbeing and independence by teaching self
