Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant – Band 4 Area: East London NHS Salary: £negotiable Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: Community Stroke Team. To start asap until March 2025. Occupational Therapy Assistant required to be part of a Stroke MDT and will be required to support PT/SLT/Psychology as required. Previous experience of working in Stroke services/ Previous experience of working as a rehab support worker with Occupational Therapists (OTs)/Experience of ADL retraining/ Comfortable doing wash and dress ax/intervention, meal pre, and community access work. Able to prescribe, order and demonstrate use of minor equipment e.g. toilet frames, bath boards. Ability to recognise Stroke symptoms including basic understanding of cognitive symptoms and how these impact on a person’s function. Comfortable with lone working in the community and physically capable to travel around Tower Hamlets and provide manual handling to patients in their own home environments.
