Occupational Therapist – Equipment & Adaptations Team
Job Overview
Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Equipment and Adaptations Team at Sheffield City Council. This is an ongoing locum opportunity based at Howden House, Union Street, Sheffield, within South Yorkshire Social Services.
The successful Occupational Therapist will provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for disabled children and adults, supporting effective, person-centred services in line with the Council’s assessment and care management arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments for disabled children and adults.
- Provide appropriate occupational therapy interventions based on assessed needs.
- Work within the Equipment and Adaptations Team to support individuals with their functional and care needs.
- Contribute to the effective and efficient provision of personal care services in line with agreed performance standards.
- Work within Sheffield City Council’s assessment and care management arrangements.
- Prioritise assessed need and support person-centred outcomes in accordance with the principles of Putting People First.
- Work collaboratively with individuals, families and relevant professionals to identify appropriate support and interventions.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist with strong assessment and intervention skills. You will be confident working with disabled children and adults and able to apply your professional knowledge to identify needs and support appropriate outcomes.
Experience within equipment and adaptations, adult social care, children’s services or community occupational therapy would be highly relevant to this role. You should be able to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a wider multidisciplinary and social care environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
- Experience undertaking occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Experience working with disabled children and/or adults.
- Knowledge of equipment, adaptations and functional needs would be advantageous.
- Ability to work in accordance with statutory assessment and care management processes.
- Strong communication, organisational and professional skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a local authority social care setting.
