Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Consultant Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Working within East London Social Services, this is an Adults role within an Intake/Duty Team, offering a small and manageable caseload.

The successful candidate will need to be confident working in a fast-paced environment, making timely decisions and responding effectively to referrals within an Intake/Duty setting. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and would suit an experienced Social Care Occupational Therapist who can work autonomously and manage competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a small and manageable Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy caseload.
• Work as part of the Intake/Duty Team, responding to referrals and identifying appropriate next steps.
• Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments and identify residents’ needs.
• Make timely and informed professional decisions within a fast-paced environment.
• Prioritise referrals and manage competing demands effectively.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider Adult Social Care services.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records using relevant Social Care databases.
• Use systems such as Liquid Logic or similar Social Care case management platforms.
• Work effectively within a hybrid working environment.
• Maintain high professional standards and ensure decisions and interventions are appropriately documented.

About You

You will be a confident and experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with Adult Social Care experience and the ability to make quick, sound professional decisions. Experience working within an Intake, Duty, or Front Door environment would be highly beneficial.

You will be organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced service where referrals need to be assessed and prioritised promptly.

Requirements

• Qualified Occupational Therapist.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working within Adult Social Care.
• Experience managing Occupational Therapy caseloads.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to make quick and appropriate professional decisions.
• Experience working within an Intake, Duty, or Front Door Team is desirable.
• Knowledge of Social Care case management databases, such as Liquid Logic or similar.
• Strong communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a hybrid environment.
