Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity with the London Borough of Sutton. Working within South London Social Services, you will join the Front Door Team and work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment responding to a varied range of referrals, including urgent and short-term requests.

The role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on residents by undertaking timely Occupational Therapy assessments, responding to manual handling needs, assessing equipment requirements, and reviewing existing support arrangements. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to identify appropriate solutions and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to a varied range of Occupational Therapy referrals and prioritise urgent requests appropriately.
  • Undertake community visits, including same-day visits where required.
  • Complete Occupational Therapy assessments to identify residents’ functional needs and appropriate support.
  • Undertake manual handling assessments and provide appropriate advice and recommendations.
  • Assess, review, and recommend appropriate equipment and support solutions.
  • Review existing equipment and support arrangements to ensure they remain appropriate to residents’ needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the service to coordinate effective responses.
  • Manage a varied caseload within a busy Front Door environment.
  • Respond effectively to urgent and short-term requests.
  • Participate in duty and office-based rotas as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, interventions, and recommendations.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist who is confident working in a fast-paced Adult Social Care environment. You will have strong assessment, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills and be comfortable responding to urgent referrals and undertaking same-day community visits.

You will be a proactive and collaborative practitioner with experience in manual handling, equipment assessment, and supporting residents to achieve positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care or a community Occupational Therapy setting.
  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Experience undertaking manual handling assessments.
  • Experience assessing and reviewing equipment and support needs.
  • Ability to prioritise urgent referrals and manage a varied caseload.
  • Ability to undertake community visits, including same-day visits where required.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy Front Door or duty environment.
