Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting two experienced Occupational Therapists for exciting locum opportunities within West Wales Social Services. Based with Ceredigion County Council, these roles are within a small, supportive Adult Community Services team dedicated to delivering person-centred Occupational Therapy that genuinely improves people’s lives.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative service where you will manage a predominantly adult community caseload, supporting individuals to remain safe, independent, and living well within their own homes. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for adults living within the community.
- Assess functional ability and develop person-centred intervention plans that promote independence and wellbeing.
- Recommend and arrange specialist equipment, assistive technology, and housing adaptations.
- Complete moving and handling assessments and provide advice on safe practices.
- Support both formal and informal carers with practical guidance, education, and advice.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals, health services, housing, and community partners.
- Manage a varied community caseload, prioritising work according to clinical need.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records and professional documentation.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support strengths-based, person-centred practice that places individuals at the centre of decision-making.
About You
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a positive, collaborative approach and a passion for supporting adults to live as independently as possible within their own communities. You will be confident managing community caseloads, undertaking complex assessments, and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
You will enjoy contributing to service development and will welcome opportunities to broaden your skills through supervision, mentoring, and exposure to specialist areas of practice.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working within Adult Community Occupational Therapy or Adult Social Care.
- Experience assessing for housing adaptations and specialist equipment.
- Knowledge and experience of moving and handling assessments.
- Experience supporting formal and informal carers.
- Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a varied community caseload independently.
- Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice.
