Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within North London Social Services. Based with Enfield Council, this role offers the opportunity to support key Adult Social Care priorities, including reducing waiting lists and delivering high-quality Occupational Therapy assessments within the Prevention and Adaptations service.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will undertake a varied caseload of Occupational Therapy assessments, helping adults to maintain independence through timely interventions, equipment provision, housing adaptations, and person-centred support. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced community Occupational Therapist looking to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for adults within community settings.
  • Support the delivery of the waiting list reduction project through timely assessment and intervention.
  • Complete Prevention and Adaptations (P&A) Occupational Therapy assessments.
  • Assess functional ability and identify interventions that promote independence and reduce risk.
  • Recommend appropriate equipment, assistive technology, and minor or major adaptations where required.
  • Develop person-centred support plans to maximise independence and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Workers, health professionals, housing services, and partner agencies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records and assessment documentation.
  • Manage a varied caseload effectively while meeting service priorities and performance targets.
  • Contribute to high-quality, strengths-based Occupational Therapy practice across the service.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in Adult Social Care and community-based practice. You will be confident carrying out functional assessments, recommending equipment and adaptations, and managing competing priorities within a busy service.

You will have excellent communication, assessment, and clinical reasoning skills, together with a proactive approach to supporting service improvement and delivering positive outcomes for adults.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care or Community Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience undertaking Occupational Therapy assessments within community settings.
  • Knowledge of equipment provision, assistive technology, and housing adaptations.
  • Experience supporting waiting list initiatives or service improvement projects is desirable.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working abilities.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
