Neuro Occupational Therapist (Part Time)

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Neuro Occupational Therapist for a part-time locum opportunity within Hampshire Private Healthcare. Based at Inspire Neurocare, Southampton, this role offers the opportunity to work within a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation service supporting individuals with complex neurological conditions.

The successful candidate will work exclusively within the inpatient rehabilitation unit, providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for patients recovering from neurological injury or illness. The caseload includes both long-term residents requiring ongoing review and management, as well as patients undertaking intensive rehabilitation programmes over 8–12 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with neurological rehabilitation experience who enjoys working within a multidisciplinary specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment for patients with complex neurological conditions.
  • Manage a varied inpatient caseload, including both long-term residents and short-term rehabilitation patients.
  • Develop and implement person-centred rehabilitation programmes that maximise functional independence and quality of life.
  • Assess cognitive, physical, perceptual, sensory, and functional abilities to inform rehabilitation planning.
  • Review and monitor patient progress, adapting treatment programmes to meet changing needs.
  • Support patients recovering from acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and other neurological conditions.
  • Recommend appropriate equipment, environmental adaptations, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, patients, and families to achieve rehabilitation goals.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with HCPC and organisational standards.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality specialist neurological rehabilitation service.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in neurological rehabilitation. Experience working with patients following acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, or other neurological conditions is essential.

You will be confident working autonomously within an inpatient rehabilitation setting, delivering evidence-based interventions and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within neurological rehabilitation.
  • Experience treating patients with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, or other neurological conditions.
  • Inpatient rehabilitation experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working abilities.
  • Ability to manage a varied neurological caseload independently.
