Occupational Therapist (2 Roles) – Adaptations Team

 

Brief Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are recruiting two experienced Occupational Therapists for locum opportunities within North West Social Services. Based at Delamere House, Crewe, these roles sit within the Adaptations Team at Cheshire East Council, supporting adults to remain safe, independent, and well within their own homes through the provision of specialist equipment and housing adaptations.

 

The successful candidates will assess individuals with a range of physical, sensory, and functional needs, identifying solutions that promote independence and improve quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity for Occupational Therapists with experience in adaptations, equipment provision, and Adult Social Care practice.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments to identify individuals’ functional and environmental needs.
  • Assess for and recommend minor and major housing adaptations to support independent living.
  • Provide specialist advice regarding equipment provision, accessibility, and home modifications.
  • Prepare detailed recommendations and specifications for adaptation works where required.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, carers, housing colleagues, surveyors, contractors, and partner agencies.
  • Support individuals to achieve safe and effective outcomes within their home environments.
  • Manage a varied caseload, prioritising assessments and interventions according to service needs.
  • Contribute to person-centred care planning and review processes.
  • Maintain accurate records, assessments, reports, and case notes in accordance with professional standards.
  • Promote strengths-based practice and maximise independence through creative problem-solving and rehabilitation-focused approaches.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong understanding of housing adaptations, equipment provision, and Adult Social Care practice. You will be confident assessing complex needs and recommending practical solutions that enhance independence and reduce risk.

 

You will possess excellent communication and partnership-working skills, enabling you to work effectively with service users, families, housing professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience within Adult Social Care or community Occupational Therapy services.
  • Knowledge of minor and major adaptations processes.
  • Experience assessing for specialist equipment and environmental modifications.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice relating to independent living and disability support.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working abilities.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
