Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within South East London Social Services. This opportunity is based with the London Borough of Waltham Forest and offers the chance to work within a community-focused adult social care service supporting residents to maintain independence and improve quality of life.
The Occupational Therapist will undertake assessments, identify needs, and provide appropriate interventions, equipment, and adaptation recommendations to enable individuals to remain safe and independent within their home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake occupational therapy assessments for adults within the community.
- Identify functional needs and develop person-centred intervention plans.
- Provide advice, guidance, and recommendations to promote independence and wellbeing.
- Assess for and recommend appropriate equipment and adaptations where required.
- Support individuals to remain safe and independent within their own homes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with professional standards.
- Contribute to positive outcomes through strengths-based and person-centred practice.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within
adult social care or community services. You will demonstrate strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills and be committed to promoting independence and improving outcomes for service users.
You will be confident managing a varied caseload, working autonomously, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience within adult social care or community occupational therapy services.
- Strong assessment, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently.
- Knowledge of equipment provision and adaptations desirable.
- Commitment to person-centred and strengths-based practice.
