Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting multiple Band 6 Occupational Therapists for locum opportunities within Surrey NHS. Based at East Surrey Hospital, these roles are available across a variety of acute inpatient services including Care of the Elderly, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Surgical wards.

The Occupational Therapists will support patients through assessment, rehabilitation, discharge planning, and recovery, helping individuals maximise independence and achieve safe and effective discharge outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention within acute inpatient settings.
• Manage a varied caseload across designated clinical areas.
• Support rehabilitation, recovery, and discharge planning pathways.
• Assess functional abilities and identify strategies to maximise independence.
• Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Provide advice and support to patients, families, and carers.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Support safe discharge planning and effective patient flow.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with either 
acute hospital experience or previous NHS experience. You will demonstrate strong clinical 
reasoning skills, effective communication, and the ability to work within busy multidisciplinary environments.

You will be confident supporting patients through rehabilitation and discharge processes while delivering 
high-quality, patient-centred care.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Acute hospital experience and/or NHS experience.
• Experience in rehabilitation and discharge planning desirable.
• Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
