Brief Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North London Social Services. This position is based within Family Services, supporting children with disabilities through specialist assessments, interventions, and community-based support.

 

The Occupational Therapist will work with children, young people, and families to promote independence, improve functional outcomes, and support safe participation within home and community environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake occupational therapy assessments for children with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement person-centred intervention and support plans.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to children, families, and carers.
  • Assess functional needs within home and community settings.
  • Recommend equipment, adaptations, and strategies to support independence and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, schools, and partner agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with organisational standards.
  • Support positive outcomes for children and families through strengths-based practice.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background working with 
children with disabilities. You will demonstrate excellent assessment and clinical reasoning 
skills alongside a child-centred and family-focused approach to care.

 

You will be confident working collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to support 
children in achieving improved independence and wellbeing.

 

Requirements

 

  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities (essential).
  • Experience within community or family services desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary working skills.
  • Ability to manage community-based caseloads effectively.
