Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North West Social Services. This position sits within an Early Intervention Integrated Service, covering Reablement, Equipment and Adaptations, and Assistive Technology.
The Occupational Therapist will work with both adults and children, supporting individuals who are experiencing difficulties with activities of daily living and reduced independence. The role focuses on delivering assessments and interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and safe living within the home and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments for adults and children within community settings.
- Develop and implement person-centred intervention plans to support independence.
- Deliver reablement programmes and utilise assistive technology solutions.
- Assess and recommend equipment, minor adaptations, and major adaptations where appropriate.
- Support adults with physical, learning, or mental health needs impacting daily living.
- Provide specialist assessment and intervention for children with complex physical, developmental, or learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to integrated care planning and service delivery across health and social care.
- Support complex case management, reducing the impact of disability and improving outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within
adult and/or paediatric social care services. You will demonstrate strong clinical
reasoning skills and the ability to deliver both rehabilitative and compensatory interventions.
You will be confident working across a varied caseload, supporting individuals with diverse and complex
needs, and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience within reablement, equipment provision, or adaptations.
- Experience working with adults and/or children in community settings.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and its application in practice.
- Ability to manage complex cases and deliver person-centred interventions.
- Strong communication, organisational, and documentation skills.
