Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 5 Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North East London NHS. This position sits within an Intensive Rehabilitation and Therapy Service, supporting patients within a community rehabilitation setting.

The Occupational Therapist will carry out independent assessments, treatment, and discharge planning for patients requiring rehabilitation support. The role focuses on improving functional independence, supporting safe discharge, and delivering person-centred interventions within community services.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake occupational therapy assessments within a community rehabilitation team.
• Deliver treatment plans to support patient recovery and independence.
• Support discharge planning to ensure safe transitions from rehabilitation services.
• Assess and recommend appropriate equipment, including ordering where required.
• Use recognised outcome measures to monitor patient progress.
• Participate in family meetings and contribute to care planning.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.

About You

You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with post-qualification experience, ideally within 
community or rehabilitation settings. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability 
to manage patient assessments and interventions independently.

You will also be confident working within a multidisciplinary team, supporting discharge planning and 
delivering rehabilitation-focused care within the community.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Post-qualification experience within NHS services.
• Experience within community or rehabilitation settings desirable.
• Experience with equipment assessment and provision.
• Ability to use outcome measures and contribute to care planning.
• Full UK driving licence required due to the community-based role.

• Role: Occupational Therapist – Band 5

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30
