Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting two to three Occupational Therapists for locum roles within East London Social Services. These positions focus on supporting individuals through major adaptations, helping to ensure safe and accessible living environments that promote independence and wellbeing.

The Occupational Therapist will assess individuals with complex needs, recommend and specify major adaptations, and work collaboratively with housing, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to support effective implementation. The role involves applying occupational therapy expertise to enable individuals to remain safely in their homes and maintain independence in daily living.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out occupational therapy assessments for individuals requiring major adaptations.
• Recommend and specify major adaptations to support independence and safety at home.
• Work collaboratively with housing services, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare detailed recommendations and contribute to adaptation planning processes.
• Support individuals and their carers through assessment and implementation of adaptations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and safe working practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with statutory requirements.

About You

You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in assessing for and recommending 
major adaptations within social care services. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and 
the ability to manage complex cases while supporting individuals to live independently.

You will be confident working with a range of stakeholders, including housing teams and contractors, and able to 
provide clear, practical recommendations that support safe and effective adaptation of living environments.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Experience assessing for and recommending major adaptations.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and processes relating to housing adaptations.
• Ability to manage complex cases and provide detailed recommendations.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
