Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for a locum role within 
South West NHS. This position sits within a Stroke Rehabilitation Therapy Team, 
supporting patients recovering from stroke through structured rehabilitation and occupational therapy 
interventions.

Working within a specialist stroke rehabilitation ward, the Occupational Therapist will assess functional 
abilities, support rehabilitation goals, and develop interventions that promote independence in daily 
activities. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to support recovery and 
enable individuals to regain confidence and functional skills following stroke.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out occupational therapy assessments for patients undergoing stroke rehabilitation.
• Develop and implement rehabilitation plans that support recovery and independence.
• Assess functional abilities and provide interventions to improve daily living skills.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams involved in stroke rehabilitation.
• Provide guidance and support to patients and carers regarding rehabilitation goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Contribute to patient-centred rehabilitation planning and discharge preparation.

About You

You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within 
stroke rehabilitation services. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and the 
ability to support individuals recovering from stroke to regain independence and functional ability.

You will also be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to coordinated 
rehabilitation planning and supporting positive outcomes for patients within an inpatient environment.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Previous experience working in stroke rehabilitation services.
• Ability to manage a rehabilitation-focused caseload.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
