Paediatric Occupational Therapist

 

Brief Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Paediatric Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North London Social Services. This position focuses on supporting children and families by providing occupational therapy assessments and practical recommendations that promote independence, safety, and participation in daily activities.

 

Working within children’s social care services, the Occupational Therapist will carry out assessments and provide advice to families within their home environment. The role involves identifying functional needs, recommending equipment or adaptations where appropriate, and supporting children with additional needs to access suitable support within the community.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Carry out occupational therapy assessments for children within home and community settings.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to support children’s independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Work directly with families to identify needs and recommend practical solutions.
  • Assess the need for equipment or adaptations that support children and their carers.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partner services to ensure coordinated support for children and families.

 

About You

 

You will be a qualified Paediatric Occupational Therapist with experience supporting children and families within community or social care settings. You will be confident carrying out assessments within home environments and providing clear advice and recommendations to support children’s development and independence.

 

Strong communication skills and a person-centred approach are important, as the role involves working closely with families and other professionals to support positive outcomes for children.

 

Requirements

 

  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working as a paediatric Occupational Therapist.
  • Ability to carry out home visits and assessments with families.
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills.

  • Working Pattern: Approximately 1 day per week office-based with visits to families
  • Salary: £39.93 per hour (Limited/Umbrella)
