Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity with
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust within the One Stop Resource Centre, supporting
community-based services across the Trafford area in the North West NHS region.

This community Occupational Therapist role in Manchester involves delivering rehabilitation and functional
assessments for individuals who have been referred for treatment within their own homes. The service supports patients who
require occupational therapy interventions to improve independence, safety, and quality of life within their home environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with physiotherapists and other healthcare
professionals while supporting and supervising patient support workers. The role requires strong experience in identifying
equipment needs, recommending environmental adaptations, and delivering holistic, person-centred rehabilitation programmes
within community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy assessments and rehabilitation interventions for patients referred to the One Stop Resource Centre.
  • Deliver treatment and rehabilitation programmes within patients’ homes across the Trafford area.
  • Identify appropriate equipment and environmental adaptations to support safe and independent living.
  • Develop and implement holistic, person-centred rehabilitation plans based on individual needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
  • Support and supervise patient support workers involved in delivering rehabilitation interventions.
  • Manage a clinical caseload and maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
  • Contribute to ongoing care planning and rehabilitation outcomes for patients within the community.

About You

You will be an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist with a background in community rehabilitation or
home-based therapy services. You will be confident completing functional assessments, recommending equipment and
environmental adaptations, and delivering rehabilitation programmes that support independence and daily living activities.

You will also have strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective work with physiotherapists, support
workers, and other healthcare professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Recognised degree or qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum of 12 months’ experience working at Band 6 level.
  • Experience delivering occupational therapy within community or home-based rehabilitation services.
  • Ability to identify equipment and environmental adaptation needs for patients.
