Job Title: Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Area: North West London Social Services

Job Details:

 

Paediatric Occupational Therapist required with experience working in Social Care / Local Authority settings to support children with complex physical, cognitive and sensory needs.

 

  • Undertake specialist functional assessments within children’s homes, schools and community settings.
  • Recommend and coordinate the provision of specialist equipment, seating, manual handling plans and minor adaptations.
  • Work closely with families, carers and professionals to develop personalised plans promoting independence, participation, play and inclusion.
  • Contribute to the design of major home adaptations in collaboration with Housing teams, surveyors, architects and partner agencies.
  • Prepare high quality written reports to support Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG), rehousing applications and statutory assessments.
  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for children with substantial physical, cognitive and sensory impairments.
  • Develop intervention plans including equipment, adaptations, specialist seating, manual handling packages and environmental assessments.
  • Support children to maximise independence, learning, development, play and social relationships.
  • Assess the needs of carers and provide support where appropriate and eligible.
  • Work collaboratively within Children’s Social Care services and alongside Adult OT services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with statutory requirements.

 

Working Arrangements: Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office.

 

Professional Support: Independent clinical supervision provided and opportunities for continued professional development within the council’s Occupational Therapy service.
