Cornwall Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a community-based role covering West Cornwall, with potential county-wide work. This position focuses on promoting optimal care, independence, and reducing reliance on long-term packages of care through effective occupational therapy intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a community-based caseload within Adult Social Care.
- Carry out face-to-face assessments and interventions each week.
- Promote independence and reduce dependency on care packages.
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, and partner agencies.
- Provide timely, high-quality assessments and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
About You
You will be an experienced community Occupational Therapist, ideally with a background in Adult Social Care. You will be confident working autonomously in the community while maintaining a strong focus on person-centred, strengths-based practice.
Requirements
- Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working in a community setting.
- Adult Social Care experience (preferred).
- Ability to undertake face-to-face visits regularly.
- Strong assessment, communication, and organisational skills.
Working Pattern
- Ideally full-time
- Part-time or flexible working may be considered
