Role Overview
A Band 6 Neuro Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist is required to support the Neuro Rehab Service for an initial 12-week placement. This role is ideal for an experienced OT with a strong background in stroke and neurological rehabilitation, working with patients requiring specialist inpatient neurorehab input.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out specialist occupational therapy assessments and treatment for patients requiring neurorehabilitation.
- Provide OT input to patients within the Dorking inpatient Neuro Rehab bed.
- Manage and prioritise your own caseload effectively.
- Allocate and delegate appropriate tasks to technical instructors.
- Complete detailed occupational therapy assessments for patients with complex needs.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning to develop evidence-based, individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Recommend and coordinate specialised interventions, adaptive techniques, equipment and onward services as required.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support recovery and safe discharge planning.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
- Proven experience in stroke and/or neurological rehabilitation.
- Experience working with complex neurological caseloads.
- Strong clinical reasoning and care planning skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to MDT working.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 16.00
30-minute unpaid break
