Occupational Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

 

Location: NELFT – Grays Court Community Hospital / Goodmayes Hospital

Area: North East London NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

Role Overview

 

A Band 6 Occupational Therapist is required to join the Intensive Rehabilitation & Therapy Service. This is a community-based role supporting patients through assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning, working as part of a multidisciplinary community rehab team.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake independent assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients within the community rehabilitation team.
  • Use clinical reasoning and recognised outcome measures to guide treatment planning.
  • Assess for, recommend and order appropriate equipment to support independence.
  • Participate in family meetings and contribute to person-centred goal setting.
  • Manage and prioritise your own caseload effectively.
  • Work collaboratively within the MDT to support rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
  • Post-qualification experience within the NHS.
  • Experience in community and rehabilitation settings desirable.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and discharge planning skills.
  • Confidence working autonomously in a community environment.
  • Car driver essential due to the community-based nature of the role.

 

Working Hours

 

Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 16.30

37.5 hours per week

Part-time considered – minimum 3 days (22.5 hours)
