Occupational Therapist (Locum)

 

Location: Croydon Social Services

Area: South London Social Services

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (initial 3 months)

Start: Immediate (no more than 1 week’s notice; no significant leave planned until March)

 

About the Role

 

An experienced Occupational Therapist is required for an immediate start to join the Integrated Neurology Team. The role delivers specialist rehabilitation input to patients following stroke, supporting recovery and maximising functional independence. You will work autonomously with supervision from a Band 7 OT.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver specialist rehabilitation OT input to patients post-stroke.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop person-centred intervention plans.
  • Assess for packages of care and prescribe/order appropriate equipment.
  • Work across multiple settings including Broad Green Centre, patients’ homes, community settings and Croydon University Hospital.
  • Collaborate with the MDT to support effective rehabilitation and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Demonstrable acute experience (ideally NHS).
  • Experience in acute medicine and elderly care.
  • Experience assessing for care packages and equipment prescription/ordering.
  • Ability to work autonomously with appropriate supervision.
  • Note: This is not a neurology or mental health post.

 

Working Hours

 

  • Full time.
  • Monday to Friday, 08:15 – 16:30.
