Location: South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust – Sunderland Royal Hospital

Area: North East NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

About the Role

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the therapy team at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The post holder will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment, treatment and advice within an acute hospital setting, working in line with Trust standards and best practice.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide therapy assessment, treatment and advice to a varied caseload using sound clinical reasoning.
  • Manage patients with a range of clinical presentations within an acute setting.
  • Complete clear, accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust, professional and departmental standards.
  • Work towards agreed response time targets.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in accordance with departmental requirements.
  • Contribute to service improvement and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in service delivery and patient pathways in line with clinical standards.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development through CPD and self-directed learning.
  • Work in accordance with the Trust’s vision, values and behavioural framework.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Previous acute hospital experience (essential).
  • Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Working Hours

 

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to gain further acute experience within a supportive NHS therapy team.
