Rehab Assistant – Band 3 (Locum)
Job Overview
We are recruiting a Band 3 Rehab Assistant to join the Intensive Rehabilitation & Therapy Service at NELFT, working across Grays Court Community Hospital and Goodmayes Hospital within the North East London NHS. This locum role supports the community rehabilitation team with the assessment, treatment, and discharge planning of patients. You will work closely with qualified therapists to deliver patient-centred rehabilitation focused on recovery, independence, and safe discharge into the community. A car driver is essential due to the community nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities

- Support the independent assessment, treatment, and discharge planning of patients within the community rehabilitation team.
- Deliver delegated rehabilitation interventions under the guidance of qualified therapists.
- Use recognised outcome measures and clinical reasoning to guide and monitor patient progress.
- Plan and manage your own delegated caseload and treatment plans confidently and effectively.
- Support patients to improve functional ability, mobility, and independence within community and bed-based rehab settings.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS and Trust standards.
About You
You are a motivated and confident Rehab Assistant with experience working in NHS environments, ideally within community or rehabilitation services. You are organised, proactive, and comfortable managing a delegated caseload. Your ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team will be key to supporting patient recovery and safe discharge.
Requirements

- Previous experience working within the NHS, preferably within community or rehabilitation services.
- Confidence in managing a delegated caseload and delivering treatment plans.
- Understanding of rehabilitation principles and use of outcome measures.
- Strong communication, organisational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Car driver with access to a vehicle is essential.
