Occupational Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

 

Location: Nobles Hospital

Area: Isle of Man NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

About the Role

 

Nobles Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their acute inpatient therapy team. This role requires a clinician confident in managing patients across surgical, orthopaedic and trauma wards, contributing to timely and safe MDT discharge planning. The post is available to start as soon as possible.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions within acute surgical, orthopaedic and trauma settings.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support effective discharge planning and promote safe transitions of care.
  • Support patients with a wide range of conditions, including amputations, acquired brain injury and frailty.
  • Develop and implement goal-focused treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
  • Contribute to service delivery within a fast-paced acute environment.

 

Requirements

 

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience in acute surgical, orthopaedic and/or trauma wards.
  • Experience supporting patients with amputations, ABI or frailty is beneficial.
  • Strong MDT collaboration and discharge planning skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied clinical caseload.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

 

Working Hours

 

  • Up to 37.5 hours per week.
