About the Role
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Community Occupational Therapist to join their community services on a short-term locum basis. This role involves delivering high-quality assessments and interventions within patients’ homes and local community settings, supporting independence and functional recovery.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist community-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Manage a varied caseload independently, delivering care within patients’ homes and local environments.
- Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans to support functional independence and rehabilitation.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, carers and external agencies to coordinate effective care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and Trust standards.
- Promote safe, effective discharge planning and ongoing self-management where appropriate.
Requirements
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience working within community OT services.
- Access to a car and ability to travel across the community.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and caseload management skills.
- Excellent communication and MDT collaboration skills.
Working Hours
- Full-time hours (community-based).
