About the Role

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy Outpatients service across Aintree Hospital and Royal Liverpool Hospital. This ongoing locum role sits within an acute medicine setting, supporting patients through comprehensive assessment, equipment provision and safe discharge planning.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out high-quality occupational therapy assessments within acute medical wards.
  • Recommend and arrange the provision of essential equipment to support independence and safety.
  • Lead and contribute to discharge planning to ensure timely and effective patient flow.
  • Attend board rounds and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Deliver patient-centred interventions aimed at optimising functional ability and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HCPC and Trust standards.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working within acute medicine or therapy outpatient settings.
  • Strong assessment, discharge planning and MDT collaboration skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a busy and varied caseload.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00.
