Job Title: Best Interest Assessor – Band 6 Location: Telford and Wrekin Council – Darby House, West Midlands Salary: £negotiable Contract Type: Locum, Ongoing Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Duration: Project-based, 4 weeks
Role Overview:
Best Interest Assessor required for a short-term project to transfer 77 clients from Appointee to Deputyship. The role involves meeting clients, reviewing previous mental capacity assessments, and completing COP3 documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and complete COP3 documentation for clients.
Prioritise 34 clients for the first 2 weeks of October.
Work within a hybrid structure (partly remote, partly on-site).
Ensure all client records and assessments are accurate and compliant with statutory requirements.
Experience/Skills Required:
Experienced Occupational Therapist with knowledge of Best Interest Assessments and mental capacity legislation.
Full driving licence and access to a car essential.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple clients and tight deadlines.
