Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Band 6 Location: Coventry City Council – The Opal Centre, Coventry, West Midlands Salary: £negotiable (£30/hour via umbrella) Contract Type: Locum, Ongoing Hours: 37 hours per week, typically 08.30 – 17.00 (flexible 07.30 – 18.30 to meet service needs)
Role Overview:
Community-based OT role supporting adults to enhance safety, independence, and wellbeing. Work includes home visits, rehabilitation, advice, and provision of aids and adaptations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct therapy assessments and support planning for adults in the community.
Provide interventions to maximise independence and safety.
Deliver advanced moving and handling support where required.
Maintain computerised records and write assessments.
Work autonomously, managing own diary and caseload.
Apply adult social care and health legislation (e.g., Care Act 2014, Manual Handling regulations 1992).
Experience/Skills Required:
Experienced Occupational Therapist with strong community and rehabilitation background.
Advanced moving and handling skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Car driver preferred (public transport possible).
Knowledge of adult social care and health legislation.
