Job Title: Moving and Handling Occupational Therapist Area: Greater Manchester Social Services Salary: £36 Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: Occupational Therapist required with experience in moving and handling. To work within social care, to be part of the Moving and Handling Optimisation Team. The focus of the team is to ensure a person is receiving the optimal level of care. The OT will have a good understanding of moving and handling techniques, equipment, adaptations, and assistive technology to enhance independence, and optimise the level of care received. The role will be sat within the Principal Occupational Therapy Team, and report to the Moving and Handling Optimisation Team Manager (OT). The OT will be working as part of an MDT team with Physiotherapists, OTs, Social Worker and Assessment Officers. Skills/experience: Must have experience of moving and handling including undertaking risk assessments, providing training to carers and equipment (eg hoists, slings, stand aids).
