Job details: Occupational Therapist required for Neuro Trauma Therapy Team. 12 weeks. Essential skills/experience:
UK & NHS experience ideally required.
• Experience of working with acute trauma setting, ideally a major trauma centre with orthopaedic, plastics & traumatic conditions and neurosurgical patients including TBI, SCI, & other neurological conditions.
• Competence with moving & handling skills, use of moving & handling equipment
• Knowledge & skills with assessment & treatment of adults with traumatic brain injury in post-traumatic amnesia, including behaviour management, use of cognitive assessments such as MOCA, ACE 3, multiple errands tests, ability to complete ADL ax with occupational analysis e.g kitchen Ax
• Confidence & competence with carrying basic neuro assessments and screening of physical, cognitive, visual, perceptual and behaviour
• Confidence with working with adults who are walking wounded and present with behaviours that challenge
• Knowledge & skills re: Mental capacity Act & experience with completing MCA
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of an MDT
• Good prioritisation skills, time management, ability to think flexibly/work under pressure
• Knowledge of discharge & rehab pathways.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 16.00.
