Job Title:  Occupational Therapist – Band 5 and Band 6  (2 roles)
Area:  West London NHS

Job details:  Occupational Therapist required for Acute Mental Health Service (AMHS). Inpatient setting. To cover vacancy for 3-6 months.
Band 5 JD available on request:

  • To provide a client-centred occupational therapy service to a defined caseload of service users with complex needs, within the local services working with multi-disciplinary team members.
  • To actively develop and implement a framework of care, which reflects a holistic approach to service user needs, and the seven pillars of clinical governance.
  • To work under the supervision of a senior or professional lead/head occupational therapist, to apply clinical skills in occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation, which include individual, and group orientated approaches.
  • To contribute to the evaluation and continued development of the occupational therapy service, as well as taking responsibility for the direct supervision of less clinically experienced qualified staff, support staff and occupational therapy students.

Band 6 JD available on request:

  • To provide a client-centred occupational therapy service to a defined caseload of service users with complex needs, within the local services working with multi-disciplinary team members and the occupational therapy team.
  • To actively develop and implement a framework of care, which reflects a holistic approach to service user needs, and the seven pillars of clinical governance.
  • To use evidence-based principles to apply clinical skills and reasoning in occupational therapy, assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation which include individual and group orientated approaches.
  • To be a resource for the team, providing, occupational therapy professional guidance, and to lead on the evaluation and continued development of the occupational therapy service
  • To provide leadership and taking responsibility for the direct supervision for less clinically experienced staff, support staff and students including conducting Performance Development Review (PDR) as appropriate.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
