Job Title: Neuro Occupational Therapist – Band 6 Area: East London NHS Salary: £negotiable Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: Neuro Trauma therapy team. Occupational Therapist required for approx. 12 weeks, depending on the recruitment of new starter. UK & NHS experience ideally required. Experience of working with acute neurosciences setting, ideally a major trauma centre with neurosurgical patients including TBI, SCI, & other neurological conditions e.g MS, MND etc. Knowledge & skills with assessment & treatment of adults with traumatic brain injury in post-traumatic amnesia, including behaviour management, use of cognitive assessments such as MOCA, ACE 3, multiple errands tests, ability to complete ADL ax with occupational analysis e.g kitchen Ax. Confidence & competence with carrying basic neuro assessments and screening of physical, cognitive, visual, perceptual and behaviour. Confidence with working with adults who are walking wounded and present with behaviours that challenge. Knowledge & skills re: Mental capacity Act & experience with completing MCA. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of an MDT. Good prioritisation skills, time management, ability to think flexibly/work under pressure. Knowledge of discharge & rehab pathways.
