Senior Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bradford Metropolitan District Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced **Senior Social Worker (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This senior role combines complex case management with mentoring and professional support for colleagues, ensuring that vulnerable adults receive safe, person-centred, and effective care.

You will lead on safeguarding work, support the development of staff, and contribute to service improvement within Adults’ Services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.

Provide supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice support to social workers and support staff.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans that promote independence and wellbeing.

Undertake best-interest decisions and contribute to legal proceedings where required.

Prepare and present high-quality, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court hearings.

Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver joined-up care.

Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.

Contribute to audits, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives within Adults’ Services.

About You

You are a resilient and motivated social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are confident managing complex safeguarding cases and committed to supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standards of practice.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Extensive post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.

Proven experience of supervising, mentoring, or supporting colleagues.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage a demanding caseload while maintaining leadership responsibilities.
